October Meeting 2015
NHEDA held its October meeting in Plymouth, NH on the campus of Plymouth State University. The meeting was focused on retaining and attracting youth and young talent in our communities. This was an interactive meeting in which the members of NHEDA enjoyed discussion and feedback with students from the Holderness School, Belmont High School and students from Plymouth State University.

June Meeting 2015
NHEDA held its June meeting in Portsmouth, NH at 3S ArtSpace. View the Presentation given by Jim Damicis on trends in growing local economies.
Meeting attendees also enjoyed a panel discussion on local industries as economic drivers in the seacoast area.
March Meeting 2015
Members of the NH Economic Development Association attended the March Meeting at the Manchester Community College. The focus of the meeting was to look at initiatives to building NH’s workforces and the resources available for NH workers and businesses. Dr. Susan Huard, President of MCC, welcomed members and panelists Ross Gittell, Chancellor, Community College System of NH; J. Michael Hickey, Dean, UNH Manchester; and Judy Burrows, Director of Student Aid, NH Charitable Foundation. Speakers shared initiatives each of these institutions are undertaking to overcome barriers and create opportunities and pathways for students and employers. These include initiatives in Advanced Manufacturing, STEM Studies and Running Start and eStart.
Gittell also shared the results of the Governor’s Task Force on K-12 STEM Education. The final report is available here. Following this panel, members also heard about additional resources offered through Stay Work Play from Mike Skelton, President & CEO of the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce; and services offered by the NH Job Training Fund and Employment Service Bureau, NH Works.
NHEDA’s 2014 Annual Meeting:
NHEDA held its annual meeting this October at the Technology Village in Conway, NH. The event was well attended with 60 members in attendance. Two panel discussions took place discussing; Economic Entrepreneurship which was moderated by Liz Gray and Local Investor Networks, moderated by Jac Cuddy. Seth Goodall, Regional Administrator for the Small Business Administration provided an update on 2015 programs.

NHEDA is excited to welcome two new board members to the organization this month. Liz Gray who is the Director of Entrepreneurship for the NH Business Finance Authority and Andre Garron, Economic Development Specialist with the University of New Hampshire Cooperative Extension’s Community and Economic Development team.
